How Web-AR.Studio Corp ("ARClip", "we") collects, uses and protects your data on arclip.design, in the editor and in published scenes.

Information we collect

Account data: username, email, a hash of your password, avatar, organization and team; if you sign in with Google, your name and email from Google. Content you create and upload: projects, assets, publications and comments. Messages and requests to the AI assistant. Billing data: plan, payment history and balance; card details are handled by the payment provider and never stored by us. If you earn as an author, your payout details are handled by Stripe. Technical data: IP address, device, browser, language, product activity and errors. When analytics is on (see the Cookie Policy), we also collect visit statistics and session recordings.

How we use it and why

To provide and secure the service, run collaboration and AI features, process payments, answer requests, send service emails and comply with the law. Legal bases: performing our contract with you (the Terms of Service), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product improvement), your consent (promotional emails and analytics where the law requires consent) and legal obligations. We do not sell personal data or use it to build advertising profiles.

Voice, video, screen sharing and chat

Voice and video chat and screen sharing in the editor are transmitted in real time between project participants, either directly or through our media server. We do not record, transcribe or store them. In a direct connection other participants may technically see your IP address, and Google STUN servers are used to set the connection up. Editor chat messages are delivered to participants in real time and are not stored on our servers; recent messages are kept only in your browser. Comments are stored with the project (text, author name and avatar, position in the scene) and are visible to its participants until they are deleted or the project is deleted. Project editors can turn off another participant's microphone, camera and screen sharing.

AI assistant and AI processing

Prompts, attachments (images, video frames, documents) and editor snapshots you send to the assistant go to model providers (Anthropic by default, or other providers if connected) solely to produce the result you asked for. The assistant may search the web to answer. Conversation history is kept for up to 12 months after the last message, and you can delete it sooner. Voice input uses your browser's speech recognition: the audio is processed by the browser vendor (for example Google or Apple) and never reaches us. We do not sell your content.

Emails and newsletters

We send service emails (verification codes, security, billing, invitations and important service changes) to every user, as your account cannot work without them. News, tips, webinar invitations and offers, including promotional emails, are sent only with your consent: you can give it with the checkbox at sign-up or by answering the question after you sign in. The box starts ticked only in the United States, where the law allows it, and you can untick it; in other countries and when you sign up from an invitation, it starts unticked. We keep your answer and the date you gave it. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any newsletter or by writing to support@arclip.design; service emails will keep coming.

Who we share data with

Processors that help us run the service, under contract: hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services, VK Cloud), email delivery (Mailgun, Amazon SES), payments (Stripe), AI models (Anthropic and other connected providers), analytics (Google Analytics and Amplitude, only with your consent where it is required), error monitoring (Sentry) and IP-to-country lookup (IPinfo). Other users, to the extent you share: project participants see your name, avatar and contributions, and your public profile and published work are visible to everyone. Authorities, where the law requires it. A buyer or successor if the company is reorganized or sold.

Published projects and their viewers

Camera and motion sensors in AR scenes are used on the viewer's device; photos and videos of a scene are saved only there. To run AR, scenes load the 8th Wall and Google MediaPipe engines, and for visual positioning camera frames may be sent to our server. We count scene views with our own analytics: device type, language, referrer and a browser identifier. In multiplayer scenes, players' positions, actions and messages are relayed in real time to other players of the same scene and are not stored. If a project's author collects viewers' data (player accounts, forms, their own analytics or pixels), the author is responsible for that data and for informing viewers, and we store and process it on the author's behalf.

International transfers

ARClip is operated by Web-AR.Studio Corp, a company registered in Delaware, USA. Your data may be processed in the United States, the EU and other countries where our providers operate. For transfers from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful mechanisms.

Retention & security

Account data and projects are kept while your account exists. AI assistant history is kept for up to 12 months after the last message, player sessions in published projects for 30 days, and billing records as long as the law requires. Editor chat messages, voice, video and screen sharing are not stored. We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls and other industry-standard safeguards.

Children

We consider children to be users under 13 in the United States, under 16 in the EU and California, or under the age set by the law of your country. Children may use ARClip only through an educational organization that has an agreement with us and invites them to ARClip; the organization is responsible for parental consent where it is required. We use children's data only to provide the service to that organization: we never send them promotional emails or use their data for advertising or to train AI models. If we learn that we have collected a child's data in violation of the law, we will delete it and close the account. Parents and guardians can contact us at support@arclip.design.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may access your data and get a copy, correct or delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing before the withdrawal. You can delete your account in settings. To get a copy of your data or have the remaining data erased, write to support@arclip.design or cto@web-ar.studio; we reply within 30 days. Residents of California and other US states have similar rights; we do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Self-hosted and enterprise plans can keep data within their own infrastructure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the product before they take effect. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
